Site Plans
Submitted by dax on Sun, 09/30/2007 - 08:21.I've been pretty busy with Ubuntu-PH work, more specifically, site management and project revivals. This site has been static for a few weeks now because of this, so I plan on updating the site in the next couple of days (probably weeks). Here's a few of the plans I have in mind:
1) Finish the Xubuntu Administration, OpenOffice Training, and Open Source Technologies of School Presentations.
2) Work on the Xubuntu Virtual Desktop. I might use Gutsy Gibbon.
3) Create more Howtos, this time, focusing on Productivity Applications like OpenOffice.
4) Xubuntu Live CD Installation
Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation goes Open Source
Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation has followed the footsteps of Royal Roads University, Durham Academy, and Handsworth Grammar School by using Free and Open Source Software in their classroom. But this time, the school's administrators decided to take it one step further: eliminate all proprietary software from their computers and their courses and use FOSS exclusively. This move was seen as the most cost-effective solution for the Foundation while at the same time providing quality education that the students need.

Xubuntu Feisty Fawn Installation
Here's a howto on how to install Xubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn. I selected an OEM install since this is the most viable option for testers, resellers, distributors, and for those who will be donating their computer to a school or charity. Please take note that this method will delete everything from your hard disk.
Setup GMail in Thunderbird
Here's a tutorial on how to setup GMail in Thunderbird, the default email client in Xubuntu.

Inline Images
Submitted by dax on Mon, 09/10/2007 - 07:07.The only thing really preventing me from importing articles from the old site is the image modules. I've been using TinyMCE, but had some problems showing inline images... at least that's what I thought at first. So I removed it together with the Image module. It turned out that Drupal has a bug showing relative images in Clean URL mode. That sucks! Some workaround I found on Drupal.org won't work for me.
Themes and Modules
Submitted by dax on Mon, 09/10/2007 - 03:10.After a day configuring my themes, logos, and modules, I can finally say that this is the new knightlust.com. I've deleted the forums, I'm sure I don't need that, but may install SMF soon. I've also added a Blog and Book module since I'll be needing that too. Now it'll take me another day (hopefully today) to manually import articles posted on my old site (again, it's http://dax.110mb.com/ for those looking for those articles).
